Baxterstorey is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our team in Barrow-in-Furness, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations, ensuring a smooth workflow for our culinary team. Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain high hygiene standards Dealing with deliveries bringing in stock and putting it away. Operate dishwashing machines and handle manual washing of pots, pans, and other kitchen items Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff Organise and store kitchen supplies and equipment in their designated areas Empty and clean waste bins, ensuring proper disposal of rubbish Support the kitchen team by replenishing supplies and assisting with deliveries Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen environment throughout the shift Report any faulty equipment or maintenance issues to the supervisor Assist with additional kitchen duties as required Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe handling of cleaning chemicals Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils Understanding of basic food hygiene and safety practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends Previous experience in a similar role or kitchen environment is desirable but not essential Willingness to learn and take direction from kitchen staff and management For almost 20 years, for every client, in every location (whether that's an office, stadium, cathedral or university), we have created beautiful spaces, exciting menus and friendly teams, so that each and every customer can have the hospitality experience they deserve.
