WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US As a global company with an organization spanning multiple countries, and customers in the financial sector, compliance is essential to all the work we do at SimCorp. SimCorp has been undergoing a process to further mature our Compliance Framework, which brings more complex tasks across topics such as Employee Compliance, Data Protection, AI and Criminal Offence As our new Senior Compliance Counsel, you will be working in Warsaw as part of our global Group Compliance team. The Compliance team focuses on developing and maintaining a robust framework for regulatory compliance and helping the organization stay compliant with applicable laws and regulations. The team is responsible for providing 2nd Line Compliance support, training and awareness and advice on a broad range of compliance topics. WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR As our new Senior Compliance Counsel, you will work closely together with the existing global Group Compliance team to develop and oversee our Compliance Framework. You will collaborate with 1st LoD, cross-functional teams and provide guidance to employees at all levels to help the organization stay compliant. This role also offers a great opportunity to help shape your own role based on your experience and interests within compliance areas. Other responsibilities will include: Assisting with risk assessments to identify market abuse compliance risks across various business functions and regulatory areas Develop and maintain our Custody Account monitoring, Developing internal training programs, including both e-learning and face-to-face training on Market Abuse and Insider trading. Collaborate closely together with internal stakeholders to shape our compliance framework, and Market Abuse Framework. Maintain policies, guidelines and procedures, and ensure consistent application of those policies across the organization, also setting up controls and monitoring effectiveness. Participate in activities to regularly monitor compliance activities and mitigating measures across the organization, and assess their effectiveness Support on Internal audits, client requests and vendor due diligence questionnaires. Have a degree in law or commercial law Have 2-3 years of experience with Market Abuse Regulations, Insider Trading, or equivalent compliance topics - and are curious to learn about those topics, you might be less familiar with. Have good analytical skills with attention to details Have clear English communication skills, both verbally and in writing Have a good understanding of compliance issues and risks, and can balance the need for sound business advice with the need for maintaining a high standard of advice To perform well in this role, you should have good interpersonal skills and a sense of humor
