Resident Engineer

Responsibilities

• Daily Operations & Monitoring
• Monitor and manage Application Delivery Controllers (ADC), Load Balancers, and related infrastructure components.
• Ensure optimal system health, resource utilization, and traffic performance across supported environments.
• Review system logs, alerts, dashboards, and monitoring tools to proactively identify issues.
• Perform routine operational checks including CPU utilization, memory usage, active sessions, and network throughput.
• Verify backup integrity and failover readiness to support business continuity requirements.
• Provide operational support during standard business hours (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, business days).
• Incident Management
• Troubleshoot and resolve application delivery, load balancing, and ADC-related incidents.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for service disruptions and recurring issues.
• Coordinate with vendor technical support teams, including Sangf or TAC, for issue escalation and resolution.
• Ensure timely incident response and service restoration in accordance with established SLAs.
• Change & Configuration Management
• Implement and manage configuration changes, including: Virtual IPs (VIPs)Load balancing policies SSL certificates Routing rules Security and application delivery policies
• Support application onboarding, migration, and deployment activities.
• Maintain configuration consistency across production, testing, and disaster recovery environments.
• Conduct impact assessments and risk analysis prior to implementing changes.
• Adhere to organizational change management processes and approval procedures.
• Performance Optimization
• Analyze traffic patterns, application behavior, and system performance metrics.
• Optimize load balancing algorithms, traffic distribution policies, and application delivery configurations.
• Fine-tune caching, compression, SSL offloading, and acceleration features to improve application performance.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvement initiatives.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews and implement optimization measures.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery
• Manage and maintain High Availability (HA) clustering configurations.
• Perform regular failover testing and disaster recovery (DR) drills.
• Ensure application delivery infrastructure meets availability and resilience requirements.
• Capacity Planning & Reporting
• Monitor infrastructure utilization, usage trends, and growth patterns.
• Provide capacity planning recommendations to support future business requirements.
• Generate weekly and monthly operational reports covering: System availability and uptime Incident summaries and resolution status Performance and utilization metrics Security-related events and observations
• Documentation & Knowledge Management
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network topology and application delivery architecture diagrams.
• Document system configurations, operational procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Develop and maintain knowledge base articles for recurring incidents and operational best practices.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Participate in project, operational, and technical review meetings.
• Provide technical recommendations and guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams to ensure service excellence.

Requirements

• Education & Experience
• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience supporting Application Delivery Controllers (ADC), Load Balancers, or network infrastructure environments.
• Experience working in enterprise or mission-critical environments is preferred.
• Technical Skills
• Hands-on experience with ADC and Load Balancer technologies such as Sangfor, F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC (NetScaler), A10 Networks, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and routing concepts.
• Experience with High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and failover configurations.
• Familiarity with performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Knowledge of change management and IT service management processes.
