Senior Engineer, Mechanical Design & Industrial Design

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing mechanical components, assemblies and product concepts.
• Creating mechanical specifications that support reliable manufacturing and assembly.
• Building, testing and refining prototypes to improve fit, function, performance and usability.
• Working across engineering, design and project teams to bring ideas into real products.
• Leading project work and mentoring more junior team members along the way.

Requirements

• Strong experience in mechanical product design , ideally with products that have moved from concept through to manufacturable outcomes.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Siemens NX or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials selection, tolerance analysis (GD&T) and Design for Manufacture (DFM/DFA).
• Experience designing for manufacturing processes including injection moulding, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and additive manufacturing.
• Experience using engineering simulation tools such as ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation for structural or thermal analysis.
• Experience producing engineering drawings, BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
• Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems such as SolidWorks PDM, Teamcenter or Windchill.
• A hands-on background in prototyping, testing and iterative product development .
• Good judgment around materials, assemblies, manufacturability and practical design trade-offs .
• An appreciation for industrial design and user-centred product thinking .
• A relevant degree and around 8+ years of related experience .
