Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office Associate II Opening Date: June 16, 2026 Closing Date: June 30, 2026 Job Class Code: 6542 Grade: 13 (Administrative) Salary: $17.73 - $25-53 per hour* *This is inclusive of a 2.50% recruitment and retention stipend Position Number: 02000-1949 Location: Augusta Currently, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or STEM OPT extensions. Core Responsibilities: In this role, you will be the backbone of the support structure to the Radiation Control Program team by effectively and efficiently performing functions necessary to operate in a busy office setting. You will use technology to receive payments and make deposits, create invoices, investigate registrations, and maintain databases. Supplying the best possible customer service to the public and regulated community will be one of the most important and rewarding functions of this position. You will also: Execute operational tasks and financial reconciliation reviews. Assist with the processing of data, reports, registrations, and licenses with the Tanning, X-Ray, Radon, and Radioactive Materials sections. Provide general office support to scan, file, copy, and distribute documents generated from the team. Communicate and guide programmatic issues through resolution. Have ownership of office processes through motivational means with the ability to identify issues, isolate causes, and make improvements. Participate in weekly Radiation Control Program staff meetings. Partner with the Office Manager to coordinate schedules, organize documentation, and maintain a positive, well-run office setting. This is a small, supportive team where people genuinely help each other succeed. No two days look the same, the tasks will vary depending on the priorities of the inspectors, and the time of year. Preferred candidates will be able to: Ability to multitask - handle multiple numerous responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and maintain productivity in a quick-moving workplace. Technically skilled - efficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Exhibit a positive attitude and willingness to accept new challenges and tasks.
