We are looking for a Lead Salesforce Developer to join this team and serve as our primary technical expert on the Salesforce platform. In this role, you will design and deliver sophisticated Salesforce solutions that power our Care and Onboarding workflows, set the technical direction for our platform investments, and mentor developers across the team. You will partner closely with product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex operational needs into scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions. A day in the life (Responsibilities) Own the design, development, and delivery of Salesforce solutions that support Customer Care and Onboarding workflows, including custom Apex, Lightning Web Components, and platform configuration Lead technical design and architecture for Salesforce initiatives, establishing and maintaining best practices for development, code quality, and deployment Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and internal and external systems using REST and SOAP web services Mentor and guide team members on Salesforce development best practices, providing code reviews and technical direction Actively contribute to deployment processes, including merge management, conflict resolution, and ensuring adequate test coverage Partner with product, design, and operations stakeholders to define requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions Proactively identify and resolve technical debt, performance issues, and systemic challenges across the Salesforce platform Leverage AI-augmented development tools to increase development velocity and code quality What you'll need to thrive (Requirements) 10+ years of Salesforce development experience in an enterprise environment, with deep expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, and platform configuration Advanced proficiency in Salesforce platform features including security models, sharing and visibility, data modeling, and Flows Experience with Salesforce Service Cloud or Sales Cloud Strong understanding of Salesforce integration patterns, including REST/SOAP web services, authentication, and authorization Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery, including estimating work, managing dependencies, and escalating blockers Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Salesforce Platform Developer I & II certifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience What will help you stand out (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves) Familiarity with Workato or a similar iPaaS platform Experience with Salesforce CI/CD tooling (Copado, SFDX, etc.) Prior experience building tooling or automations for customer support or onboarding teams What you'll need to thrive (Requirements) AI at Toast At Toast, one of our company values is that we're hungry to build and learn.
