This position is for a strong Mechanical Engineer, one with large and complex capital equipment design experience, to add to our team that is responsible for product improvements and new developments on our High-Pressure Processing (HPP) machines. You will work together with colleagues in a small but very competent engineering team with extensive experience of pressure vessels. Developments will require hydraulic and mechanical Engineering and manufacturing (sheet metal bending, machining, welding etc.) experience is a plus. Among other tasks, here's what you'll be doing as Mechanical Engineer: Serve as a Mechanical Engineer on daily work as well as on development projects. Complete detailed design work and drawings with 2D or 3D modeling tools. Check and review other teammates' drawings, BoM's, and calculations. Perform dimensioning of parts, assemblies and structures Specify and order materials for development projects. Track progress and expedite material orders for projects as required. Ensure that new designs are safe, cost effective, reliable, and easy to service. Select components and assemblies to meet national and international standards and requirements. Support the organization when engineering related questions arise. Resolve problems, identify trends, and determine system improvements. Work with subcontractors and outside specialists when needed. Participate in customers' meetings to improve their processes and use of their equipment. Participate in Safety reviews of new designs. What kind of person are you? This position requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. A Master's in Mechanical Engineering preferred. 5+ years experience in mechanical and design engineering. 3+ years Modeling in Solid Works or a similar program. 5+ years Stress Analysis experience. Successful project experience. Knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems. Strong analytical and documentation skills required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and have time management skills. Must have the ability to be proactive and drive change. Up to 10% of travel including international. Preferred Additional Skills/ Experience Experience with root cause corrective action tools and processes. Experience with ANSYS Workbench, APDL etc. - FEA. Experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM - CAD. Experience with Team Center - PLM. Experience of ASME B&PV Code, Section VIII. Metallurgical and materials science knowledge. Experience with ISO-standards and ISO-tolerances. Experience with and Metric designs. Proven track record of problem solving and overcoming obstacles. Understanding of UL, CE, OSHA, IBC, and other industry codes and requirements. Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics. Who are we?
