• As of June of the Program year the prospective intern must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year). NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.

The Teachers' Retirement System (TRS), a large public pension fund located in the financial district in NYC seeks an intern who will work in the Internal Audit Department for a 10 week summer internship program. Our intern program provides students with an opportunity to learn about the Internal Audit function at TRS. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Work with Internal Audit colleagues to understand the Internal Audit processes, IIA Standards, business risks and continuously improve the department and achieve department goals; - Contribute ideas to continuously improve audit methodology and procedures, including the usage of data analysis/technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency of audit procedures and increase value to the stakeholders; - Shadow and assist auditors within the Internal Audit Department; and - Participate in other internal audit assignments as needed.
