Responsibilities
- Accurately and timely processes full-cycle payroll for both salary and hourly pay groups (union/non-union), ensuring strict compliance with legislation, collective agreements, and BCAA policies.
- Act as a key point of contact for employees on payroll inquiries including benefits, pension, entitlements, and specific payments/deductions.
- Support regular reconciliations, ensuring their completion, and conduct reviews and audits of various reports, including those related to unsubmitted/unapproved time, overtime/double-time, and audit/error reports.
- Prepare monthly journal entries, balances, and reconciliations to the general ledger, while correcting any variances & process adjustments through manual journal entries.
- Play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy by providing essential support for mid-year and year-end balancing. This includes handling adjustments, reconciliations, taxable benefit processing, T4 summary preparation, remittances, PIER, and WCB reports.
- Promoting a supportive culture through BCAA's People First Approach, and by continuously identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and inform stakeholders of potential enhancements.
- What you bring:
- Diploma in Payroll/Accounting coupled with a PCP designation.
- Minimum 3 years' of experience in a complex, large-scale, full-cycle payroll environment, with a solid understanding of BC payroll regulations.
- Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking abilities when tackling complex payroll situations.
- You can quickly adapt to changing priorities and develop solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
- Bonus Skills:
- WorkDay (WD) experience, and exposure to Epicor, Concur, Verint, and/or ServiceNow.
