Your new role The role is responsible for managing actuarial deliverables across reserving, planning, and reporting, ensuring strong governance, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement. It also plays a key role in enabling the actuarial control cycle by strengthening connections with strategic decision-makers, enhancing the relevance, timeliness, and impact of actuarial insights across the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Actuarial Analysts to deliver high-quality outcomes aligned to business objectives
- Translate strategic priorities into clear, actionable plans, driving delivery and team performance
- Deliver actionable actuarial insights that connect reserving outcomes to strategic decision-making and strengthen the actuarial control cycle
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, effectively communicating insights to a range of audiences
- Ensure robust governance through strong quality controls and standards across actuarial processes and outputs
- Lead the delivery of regulatory and statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Drive process simplification, efficiency, and continuous improvement across actuarial activities
- About you
- The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar Actuarial Manager role with a focus on General Insurance and Reserving. You will also have:
- Tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Science, Data Science, Business, Actuarial Studies, or Computer Science.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a mindset of improving processes.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven experience of leading and developing teams of Actuarial Analysts
- Proven record of communicating technical analysis to key stakeholders to make commercial decisions
