About the role

Your role NES Fircroft is currently recruiting a Senior Project Engineer for our Oil & Gas Chemicals project. As Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting delivery of engineering excellence in their assigned project(s) through executing and delivering the engineering for an assigned project scope to schedule and in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications and standards. Specifically, you shall be responsible for: Coordinate a series of activities performed by engineers, designers and others from multiple engineering disciplines or departments, checks and issues engineering deliverables Schedule oversight, planning and resource forecasting for engineering activities relating to the project Ensure accurate and timely delivery of work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers Alert Project Manager in the event of potential delays or change; supports implementation of approved changes Coordinate and assure technical excellence of interdisciplinary project deliverables Coordinate, guide and mentor other Project Engineers in the management of work scope Manage interfaces between engineering disciplines to ensure the successful delivery of assigned work Coordinate a series of activities performed by engineers, designers and others from multiple engineering disciplines or departments, checks and issues engineering deliverables Project Deliverables Contributes to the Project Execution Plan, Discipline Design Instruction and Contract requisitions; prepares project plans and multi-discipline documents such as basis of design, subcontract scopes of work Able to manage and coordinate engineering multidiscipline inputs and deliverables across multiple execution centres including workshare / high value engineering centres Quality, HSE and Assurance Understands and works to quality system; monitors and acts on deficiencies Checks Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues are identified and addressed in design, manufacture, construction, commissioning and operations Develops Project Specific Procedures Ensures that the Engineering disciplines comply strictly with the contract and scope of work in completing project activities Responsible for assuring quality of engineering deliverables before issue to customer Chairs technical meetings with Third Parties and manages particular technical issues through to completion Development and management of schedule Plans individual work activities and manages time; liaises with disciplines to ensure timely receipt of comments. Inputs to work plan, sets targets and holds regular reviews. Expedite Engineers to deliver to schedule, fully understand reasons for delay and drive development of recovery plans. Resolves most delays or changes and escalates only most serious issues Change management Highlights and quantifies changes that impacts work Able to effect change when approved. People Management Supervises work of technical professionals in the delivery of engineering deliverables including checking work Coordinates medium sized interdisciplinary team (typically 10-50). Communicates to facilitate work effort; motivates team; strong, positive and active in solutions and proactive attitude Working Relationships Internal Daily interaction with engineering resources and leadership Closely liaise with workshare centres Regularly interface with operational and functional leadership Maintain effective communication with all relevant parties including Client, Department Management, Partners and Project Leadership team to manage resolution of areas of concern, lessons learnt and continuous improvement strategies for assigned project scope External Be the senior project engineering interface between Wood and Client for assigned project scope Level of Influence & Decision Making Authority Works under minimal supervision; work is assigned in terms of goals and priorities; duties are carried out within broad guidelines and unusual or complex matters are generally referred to more senior authority. Actions and decisions typically have a significant influence on the technical, operational and financial results of one or more projects Translates standards and guidelines into practical actions No direct reports, but guides, and coordinates an interdisciplinary work group consisting of technical staff; Overall project performance is reviewed and evaluated To be successful in this role, you shall need: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant Engineering degree Due to complexity of the role, 8+ years relevant project construction and execution experience in oil and gas chemical/downstream industry oil and gas chemical/downstream industry Fully understands technical work scopes including commercial aspects and has working knowledge of specifications and standards Completely familiar with project Contractual and Commercial requirements and able to commun
