Data Center Engineer

About the role

Job Responsibilities Perform day-to-day data center operations, including coordination with users, visitors, and subscribers. Manage and facilitate visitor access and activities within the data center environment. Coordinate with internal project teams to ensure smooth execution of tasks and operational activities. Handle operational and production-related issues, ensuring timely resolution. Monitor and manage incidents during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to SLAs. Support "hands and feet" operations across multiple data center sites in Singapore, including travel for incident and planned activities. Perform installation and decommissioning of IT equipment, including server racking and stacking. Carry out structured cabling tasks such as patching, labeling, and cable management. Conduct daily server health checks, site walkthroughs, reporting, and queue management (email/remedy systems). Ensure data center cleanliness and compliance by keeping contaminants (e.g., cardboard) out of the facility. Receive and manage hardware deliveries and maintain inventory/store records. Maintain accurate visitor logs and access records. Work in a 24/7 shift-based environment with flexibility based on operational requirements. Job Requirement Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Data Center operations. Hands-on experience in data center infrastructure environments. Strong understanding of 24/7 DC operational processes and procedures. Practical experience in server racking & stacking and structured cabling. Basic knowledge of data center facilities, environment, and industry standards. Ability to troubleshoot hardware and cabling issues effectively. Willingness to work in a shift-based, 24/7 operational environment with high availability. Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and a team-oriented professional with adaptability in a dynamic environment. Good to have Relevant technical or data center certification. Experience working with external vendors and stakeholder. Proven ability to work effectively in multicultural environment. Strong team collaboration skills and flexibility to meet operational demand.
