This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the interface of operations, contractors, and leadership, contributing directly to safe, compliant, and efficient offshore performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening safety and environment performance and practices, driving safety culture, and ensuring the effective implementation of environmental licensing commitments. Accountabilities: Asset-Focused HSE Leadership: Act as the primary HSE focal point for an offshore asset, providing day-to-day support to operations and ensuring alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements. Regulatory Compliance & Environmental Licensing: Ensure adherence to Brazilian regulatory frameworks (e.g., IBAMA, ANP, NR standards) and support the implementation and tracking of post-license environmental and social commitments. Risk Management & Operational Excellence: Support the identification and management of operational risks through application of barrier management and critical control verification. Reinforce safe execution of key processes such as Permit to Work, SIMOPS, and Management of Change (MoC). Incident Investigation & Learning: Lead or contribute to incident investigations using structured methodologies (e.g., Causal Learning, Human Factors principles) and ensure insights are translated into actionable improvements. Performance & Insights: Maintain and analyze HSE data to identify trends (e.g., process safety, DROPS, line-of-fire) and provide insight-driven recommendations to improve operational performance. Contractor & Supply Chain Engagement: Work closely with offshore contractors and logistics providers to ensure alignment with HSE expectations and drive consistent performance across the value chain. Safety Culture & Human Factors: Support the deployment of Human Factors and Psychological Safety initiatives, fostering an open reporting culture and enabling continuous learning from both incidents and normal work. Stakeholder Interface: Act as a key link between offshore teams, onshore functions, HSE leadership, and regulatory stakeholders, supporting audits, inspections, and governance processes. What you bring Must have legal authorization to work in Brazil on a full-time basis for anyone other than the current employer Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Safety, or related discipline 5+ years in offshore oil & gas operations (FPSO experience is a plus) Strong knowledge of Brazilian HSE regulatory environment (IBAMA, ANP, NR standards) Experience in incident investigation and risk management methodologies Proven ability to influence, engage, and work effectively with multidisciplinary and contractor teams Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights Familiarity with Human Factors, safety culture, and learning organization concepts is an advantage Fluent in Portuguese and English
