Responsibilities
- Actively manage and optimize the current distribution network including quantity and location of Distribution Centers (DC) to provide optimal service for restaurants at the best total cost, service area assessments, identification and implementation of final mile freight efficiencies.
- Analyze proper metrics to evaluate and make recommendations on optimized routing, delivery frequency and drop sizes.
- Establish best practices and protocols across the entire network and identify and implement projects and equipment to maximize restaurant storage.
- Manage the relationships with the DCs and key stakeholders at each facility including site visits/audits, managing other 3rd party providers as needed.
- Oversee the pricing at all nodes with a focus on DC markup (handling and final mile delivery) and collect DC efficiencies and cost levers for use during negotiations to ensure final delivered price is correct.
- Establish standards and manage KPIs with stakeholders and distribution centers at established cadence.
- Resolve conflicts and store delivery related issues (missing/damaged item and late delivery) and coordinate re-supply efforts with DCs and product allocations with the inbound logistics team so the restaurants' needs are met.
- Lead resupplying stores and communication during times of crisis (weather, hurricane, snow/ice, supply shortage/stoppage, etc.)
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Marketing, Finance and other departments to ensure smooth transition of new items, tests, and promotions into our restaurants.
- Support the Supply Chain strategy, including but not limited to, discovering/supporting margin improvement projects and technology implementation.
- Engage and support continuous improvement initiatives and restaurant excellence with the field seeking sustainable solutions to improve service to the restaurants.
- Host DC business reviews and participate in regional field meetings to understand current market forces using data, identify and address any training/process gaps and execute improvement plans.
- This position will include regional coverage with anticipated domestic travel on a quarterly basis.
- WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in Logistics. Supply Chain, Operations and 3PL or Warehouse Experience required.
- MBA or Six Sigma Belt certification preferred.
- WMS, Oracle, Continuous Improvement, Contract Negotiation, Pricing Models, food safety compliance and foodservice/temp control experience preferred.
- Possess extraordinary organization skills and ability to prioritize projects and complex issues in a fast-moving environment.
- Leverage and standardize WMS across operators, building relationships and enforcing requirements and using critical thinking and strong analytical skills to execute solutions, communication and training.
