About the role

The selectee serves as a Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist, directing a team that initiates and tracks pre-employment investigations for court security officer applicants and other support personnel. The position determines suitability and security clearance eligibility of applicants and support personnel for entry into USMS contract positions. This position is located in the Judicial Security Division / Arlington, Virginia. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion and Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) Status applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF50 must include the position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service (Competitive or Excepted) and career status (career or career-conditional). No award SF50 will be accepted as proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. - One year at the GS-13 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 grade level. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply. To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Providing technical and procedural advice regarding background or suitability investigations to personnel security specialists, managers, or support staff; Evaluating program performance related to personnel security policies and/or procedures for effectiveness; Coordinating with related security program offices to achieve comprehensive organizational security goals and objectives; AND Investigating applicants and determining suitability and security clearance eligibility of personnel or contract positions When citing your education and/or experience, be clear and specific.
