About the role

As an Android Developer , you'll be hands-on with production Jetpack Compose to help us build and maintain modern, scalable native Android apps for a large and well-known global retail brand that operates in dozens of markets. You'll take ownership of UI and architecture, partner with other engineers to raise engineering quality, and ensure the app is fast, secure, and reliable in production. We are looking for someone who is passionate about seeking new opportunities to create impactful work.

Responsibilities

  • Own Jetpack Compose development end-to-end: implement production UI, design system components, navigation patterns, and state management using best practices
  • Build with modern Android standards: scalable module structure, maintainable patterns, and architecture designed for long-term evolution-implemented in Kotlin
  • Deliver resilient production code, prioritizing performance tuning, responsive UI, secure networking, safe storage, and memory/thread safety
  • Design and implement core Android app layers using Retrofit/Ktor, Room, Dagger/Koin, Architecture Components, Coroutines, and reactive patterns
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and UI tests to improve testability and participate in the overall test strategy
  • Maintain and improve hands-on CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and/or Bitrise
  • Collaborate daily using strong engineering practices including code reviews, technical discussions, and documentation across cross-functional teams, designers, QA, and project managers
  • Communicate proactively regarding risks, progress, and priorities in a clear and timely manner to keep delivery on track across multiple countries and time zones
  • About You
  • The essentials:
  • Strong production experience with Jetpack Compose (the main requirement for this account)
  • Proven Android development experience using modern best practices and the Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, git-flow, and Git-based collaboration
  • Deep technical proficiency with Retrofit or Ktor, Room, Dagger or Koin, Android Architecture Components, and the Coroutines Framework
  • A quality mindset beyond the code, with practical knowledge of profiling, performance tuning, security, and memory leak prevention
  • Hands-on CI/CD proficiency with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and/or Bitrise
  • Fluent in English with the ability to collaborate effectively in global environments, and highly comfortable communicating and designing solutions fluently in Kotlin
