The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work The NCDAC Support Services Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is seeking an energized and collaborative Accounting Technician II to join the Coastal Region Maintenance Team. This full‑time position is based at the Coastal Region Maintenance Yard in Greenville, NC, and also supports the Piedmont Region Maintenance Team with essential accounting and administrative functions.

Responsibilities

• Review and process expense vouchers, invoices, purchase orders, and financial documents.
• Maintain accurate financial accounting data and reporting records.
• Prepare and verify financial statements and related documentation.
• Provide administrative support to regional maintenance teams.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned accounting tasks.

• This is an on‑site, 40‑hour per week role with state benefits. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., with occasional weekend work as needed.

• Salary Grade Range: $35,596.00-$62,294.00

• Working knowledge of accounting methods, procedures, and accounting practices.
