About the role

You will serve as a Telecommunications Specialist in the Waterfront Field Branch (10942), Waterfront & Production Information Technology (IT) Support Division (1094), Information Technology & Cybersecurity (ITACS) Office (109) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying advanced information technology concepts, principles, methods, and practices sufficient to manage and administer physical infrastructure; Experience serving as a project leader for IT physical infrastructure related assignments to include documenting project plans, resolving outstanding issues, and providing necessary updates for higher-level review; Experience serving as a subject matter expert in the analysis, planning, and evaluation of IT physical infrastructure or service delivery; Experience integrating knowledge of Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) networking principles and concepts to assist in the development of LAN/WAN systems. GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing a working knowledge of information technology concepts, principles, methods, and practices sufficient to manage and administer physical infrastructure; Experience configuring, installing, maintaining, inspecting, and designing IT physical infrastructure; Experience supporting device connectivity and communication utilizing different wired and wireless technologies; Experience utilizing a working knowledge of industry standard devices, cabling, connectors, test equipment, and procedures that support IT infrastructure.
