Additional Information

COMPANY PROFILE CodeAI is an education innovation nonprofit dedicated to the vision that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn about artificial intelligence (AI) and computer science (CS) as part of their core K-12 education. We increase participation in AI+CS education by reaching students of all backgrounds where they are - at their skill level, in their schools, and in ways that inspire them to keep learning, with a focus on increasing participation by young women and students from other underrepresented groups. The leading provider of K-12 AI+CS education curriculum across the globe, CodeAI also organizes the annual Hour of AI campaign, building on the legacy of the Hour of Code, which has engaged more than 15% of all students in the world! A unifying approach in a divided world CodeAI's global role in the K-12 computer science movement is only possible because we use a unifying approach across diverse and often divided stakeholders. At a time of increasing polarization, the idea of increasing opportunity for students unites people from across the political spectrum. CodeAI's team members, students, teachers, and supporters have diverse and diverging view points, and they are all welcome in our mission. Read more . JOB SUMMARY CodeAI is looking for a Manager, CS & AI Curriculum to lead and grow our curriculum content development team. You'll own the quality of the K-12 CS and AI curriculum - including AI Foundations, AI Discoveries, and CS Fundamentals - that reaches hundreds of thousands of students across the U.S. and around the world every year. You'll uphold what already makes our curriculum strong while pushing it forward, especially in how AI can reshape the way we build content. This is a role for someone who loves both the craft of curriculum and the challenge of leading a team through it. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In this role you will: Manage a team of curriculum content developers, contractors, and part-time staff - mentoring them, supporting their growth, and building an inclusive, productive team culture. Translate product and content strategy into a development plan, develop high-level content designs, and lead your team in executing the roadmap toward organizational goals. Lead the team in building and launching curriculum content, creating roadmaps and milestones, allocating resources, and standardizing workflows and development processes. Set and uphold standards for pedagogy, technical accuracy, and craft across our products, and manage an external review process with subject matter experts and teacher reviewers. Oversee curriculum partnerships, including externally developed content, ensuring quality and alignment with CodeAI standards. Drive innovation in curriculum design and development, including incorporating AI into content-development workflows and pioneering new approaches to building engaging learning experiences. Stay close to teachers and students, using discovery and data to ground content decisions in their real needs. Build strong partnerships across product management, design, engineering, marketing, and data, communicating effectively with stakeholders and leadership. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS We seek candidates who have: 4+ years of experience designing and developing K-12 curriculum and learning content at scale, ideally CS and AI-focused, with experience leading content development teams in the ed tech/curriculum space. 2+ years of experience as a people manager strongly preferred. Equivalent experience mentoring team members and managing contractors, ideally with a track record of growing content or curriculum staff, will be considered. Deep knowledge of CS and AI concepts relevant to at minimum the K-12 grade bands of the CSTA standards and the AI Literacy Framework, with fluency in at least one text-based programming language (Python or JavaScript). A deep and current understanding of curriculum development principles and frameworks, including how to design effective learning experiences in online and blended environments, and best practices in pedagogical design. A demonstrated commitment to content quality - setting standards, running review processes, and giving developmental feedback to content creators - as well as to innovation in the curriculum space. Direct experience teaching CS and/or AI in a K-12 setting. Interest and experience incorporating AI into content-development workflows to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency. Strong project management skills, with experience leading and prioritizing multiple complex projects with many moving parts, ideally using project management tools. A deep understanding of best practices for equitable classrooms and student-centered pedagogy. Experience building and maintaining cross-functional and cross-organizational relationships. A growth mindset and the ability to drive clarity through ambiguity. A passion for CS and AI education and the CodeAI mission.
