As a Manager of Video Production, you will lead and develop a team of video producers and editors while also rolling up your sleeves to shoot and edit world-class content. You will drive the video strategy for Samsara, solving ambiguous and high-impact visual storytelling problems across multiple teams, and influence the broader direction of our video content and its impact on the company's brand and customer success stories. This role is open to candidates who are based within 60 miles of San Francisco and will require travel up to 30% of the time. In this role, you will: Manage, mentor, and grow a team of video producers and editors, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement. Shoot and edit high-quality video productions across a range of formats, serving as a hands-on contributor in addition to your management responsibilities. Drive video strategy and solve complex, ambiguous problems that have substantial impact across multiple functional areas. Define workflows, production standards, and AI-enhanced toolsets that scale with the team and elevate the quality and speed of output. Influence the broader direction of Samsara's visual media and contribute significantly to the company's overall creative strategy. Translate complex technical IoT data into human-centric stories, making the "invisible" impact of Samsara's technology visible and compelling to a global audience. Lead deep investigations into complex production challenges, surfacing root causes and defining roadmaps for major video problem domains. Orchestrate complex video initiatives involving multiple teams, building consensus and alignment across organizational boundaries. Manage external vendors and freelance networks, ensuring a seamless extension of the internal team's capabilities during peak production cycles. Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles in every production and across your team. Minimum requirements: 8+ years of experience in video production, including hands-on shooting and editing. 2+ years of people management experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams. Based in or near the San Francisco Bay Area and willing and able to travel when necessary Established subject matter expert with a deep understanding of evolving video technologies and AI-enhanced production tools. Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional video projects from concept to delivery. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
