Senior Medical Writer

Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze literature searches and scientific research regarding clinical data and key scientific information for content development projects to meet client needs for relevant, up-to-date, evidenced-based, and accurate medical communication content
• Collaborate with the Medical Director, in partnership with Creative and Client Services, on medical storytelling, drawing upon client insights, landscape intelligence, and relevant evidence-based medical literature to provide informed and relevant strategic recommendations
• Partner with Presentation and Graphic Designers on various illustrations, animations, and creative applications of medical and scientific information
• As assigned, develop relationships and collaborate closely with clients and key opinion leaders to develop scientific content and execute medical communication strategy to communicate complex scientific information to medical professionals
• Support project management within the cross-functional team by effectively communicating and aligning with Account and Project Managers, and actively participating in all internal and client meetings
• Train and mentor more junior medical writers under the guidance of the Medical Director
• Maintain full compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements as well as all applicable US laws and regulations
• Perform any other duties as reasonably assigned; duties and responsibilities may be removed, modified, or added by leadership at any time as business or operations warrant
• Working Conditions:
• Work Schedule/Hours : This position requires occasional nonstandard work hours in accordance with project needs, deadlines, deliverables, and urgent client requests
• Business Travel : This position requires moderate overnight/weekend travel (up to 20%) based upon client geography
• This position has no direct reports and does not perform supervisory tasks
• What you should have:
• Advanced degree (eg, MD, PhD, PharmD, MPH, MS) in a healthcare-related field required
• Experience with medical, legal, and regulatory reviews preferred
• Expert verbal and written communication skills in the field of medical science

Position Summary: The Senior Medical Writer serves as an integral part of the Real Chemistry Medical Communications division in developing scientific content in support of a variety of omnichannel medical communication tactics, as assigned to particular therapeutic areas and client brands. The Senior Medical Writer must have the ability to analyze and interpret complex scientific data and translate these into compelling and relevant clinical communications and commercial/medical messages. The Senior Medical Writer collaborates closely with the Medical Director and cross-functional teammates in the development and execution of scientific strategies and tactics. This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices-including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, Lambertville, or San Francisco-or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.
