Requirements

• Renewable and clean energy technologies, including solar photovoltaic systems, wind energy systems, energy storage, fuel cells, and other low-carbon energy sources.
• Electrical energy conversion and power systems, including power electronic converters, grid integration, energy efficiency, and basic power-flow concepts.
• Modelling and analysis of renewable energy systems, including resource assessment, system sizing, performance evaluation, and economic and environmental considerations.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as MATLAB, Simulink, HOMER, PVsyst, or equivalent renewable-energy modelling and simulation tools.
• Familiarity with electrical laboratory equipment, data acquisition systems, sensors, and renewable-energy training platforms would be considered an asset.
• Previous experience as a teaching assistant or laboratory demonstrator in renewable energy, electrical engineering, power systems, or related engineering courses would be considered an asset.

Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026) Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026) In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant's duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.
