Position Summary: The Medical College of Wisconsin's Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care- MICU is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within the Inpatient setting . This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital . The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. Position Highlights: Collaborate with pulmonary & critical care faculty in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including members of the teaching service Demonstrate strong clinical competence; critical decision-making; confidence in ability to assess, diagnose, & treat critically ill patients; and manage all aspects of care from admission to transfer from the critical care service Participate in d aily rounds with the Attending Intensivist Physician team, presenting 24-hour patient report Provide exceptional care of Medical Intensive Care Unit patients Schedule: Full time, 1.0 fte 12-hour rotating day shifts with expectations for some weekends & holidays Also requires 2-3 overnight shifts per month, as well as flexibility w/ hours to provide for an appropriate level of patient care coverage Opportunities to pick up extra shifts Salaried/Exempt Department/Division Highlights: Join a welcoming, cohesive, collaborative, & dynamic team Serves as a Level I adult trauma center and regional referral hub , managing the sickest and most complex ICU patients in the region Specialized expertise across disciplines-cardiac, neuro, transplant, oncology, and infectious disease-supports comprehensive multidisciplinary care Equipped with advanced critical care technology , including continuous hemodynamic monitoring, ECMO capabilities, and integrated EHR & tele-ICU systems Recently renovated critical care spaces designed for efficiency, safety, & family-centered care Exposure to a broad spectrum of critical illnesses-from septic shock to complex postoperative and transplant cases-providing rich clinical learning experiences Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine | Medical College of Wisconsin
