AECOM is looking for a Project Coordinator, Transit & Rail to be based out of our Burnaby, BC offices, with work from home flexibility. Candidate may be required to work on construction site projects. e-RailSafe background check is required for this role. To be successful in this management and technical focused role, you will have the following characteristics: Work independently with minimal guidance except for complex and unusual situations. Motivated to study, learn, and apply unfamiliar technical concepts. Daily tasks may include: Multi-task and balance constantly evolving priorities, remaining highly organized at all times. Liaise with Clients, Contractors, Consultants, and Internal Stakeholders, including addressing RFIs, claims, progress payments, disputes. Maintain and control project documentation and records, including ensuring all project close documentation is on file. Performs site visits to monitor progress and to interface with stakeholders to ensure the Client's interests are protected. The engineer may be asked to work from the project field office as required to meet requirements of the project schedule and scope. Project management which includes, but is not limited to, preparing and managing scopes, schedules, and budgets, reviewing documents, conducting and attending meetings, frequent site visits, reporting, preparing bid documents, preparing and updating risk management documentation, providing oversight to projects during construction, contract administration (invoice review, progress payment review and endorsement, preparation of project closeout documents, submittal review), and material ordering. Providing engineering support to various railroad company departments Developing design drawings and tender packages. Cost estimating. Managing track retirements. Perform field inspections of track and civil works. Providing on-call services including emergency response (providing engineering support on-site in real-time) Coordination of railway flagging Reviewing work on-site for general conformity to plans, specifications, regulations, and safety requirements Minimum Requirements : Bachelor Degree in civil engineering or relevant discipline 4+ years experience in railway engineering Driving license Proficiency with MS Office applications - Word, Excel
