• Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential
• Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
• Ability to communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff to ensure clear and accurate exchange of information, Ability to produce artifact-free electrocardiography studies, Ability to "stand-by" in cardiac arrests (codes) or cardioversion
• Essential Responsibilities
• Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
• Obtains artifact-free electrocardiography.
• Performs adequate holter monitors.
• Performs EKGs in codes or cardioversion.
• Prepares the patient's room and equipment for the electrocardiography.
• Prepares the patient according to the test being performed and confirm the status of skin allergies with patients.
• Documents and processes procedures on a daily basis in the database.
• Processes billing charges or credits on a daily basis.
• Performs photocopying, filing, charting of reports in patient's medical record as needed.
• Completes the care and operation of EKG equipment according to technical specifications and application of equipment.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked equipment with supplies and "in good working order" after each shift.
• Reports any unsafe or mal-functioning equipment to Bio-med and takes the necessary step in processing reported equipment.
• Provides teaching and educational material to the patient and or significant others concerning electrocardiography.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
