Invesment Counsellor

About the role

First Plus Asset Management is seeking an experienced English and Mandarin-speaking Investment Counsellor / Investment Advisory Specialist with 5-10 years of private banking, wealth management, or investment advisory experience . The ideal candidate should have strong investment counselling capabilities, hands-on experience working with high-net-worth clients and family offices, and a solid understanding of mandate solutions, including discretionary mandates, advisory portfolios, model portfolios, and customized asset allocation strategies. This role will support the firm's wealth management and asset allocation offering for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and professional investors, with a focus on portfolio construction, investment solutions, and client engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide investment advisory and portfolio solutions to high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and qualified investors.
• Support the design and implementation of asset allocation strategies across public equities, fixed income, private credit, private equity, funds, and structured solutions.
• Work closely with relationship managers, investor relations, and the investment team to identify suitable investment opportunities based on clients' risk profiles, investment objectives, and liquidity needs.
• Support mandate-related solutions, including discretionary mandates, advisory portfolios, model portfolios, and customized investment strategies.
• Prepare investment proposals, portfolio reviews, market updates, client presentations, and due diligence materials.
• Monitor client portfolios and provide timely updates on market developments, portfolio performance, and risk positioning.
• Participate in client meetings to explain investment views, portfolio strategy, and product recommendations.
• Ensure investment recommendations and client activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and suitability standards.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in private banking, wealth management, investment advisory, or asset management.
• Prior experience as an Investment Counsellor, Investment Advisor, Product Specialist, or Portfolio Advisory professional preferred.
• Experience with mandate solutions, discretionary portfolio management, or advisory portfolio construction is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of multi-asset investment products, including equities, bonds, funds, structured products, private credit, private equity, and alternative investments.
• Good understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk profiling, and investment suitability.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain investment concepts clearly to clients.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is required, as the role involves frequent communication with Mandarin-speaking clients and investors.
• Relevant regulatory qualifications in Singapore, such as CMFAS, will be an advantage.
• Preferred Profile
• The ideal candidate is someone from a private banking investment counselling background who understands how HNW clients think about portfolio allocation, mandates, risk management, liquidity, and long-term wealth preservation.
• The candidate should be comfortable translating investment views into practical portfolio solutions and supporting the firm in deepening relationships with HNW clients, family offices, and professional investors.
