Location: Waypoint Waterfront, Sanford, ME Season: June through Labor Day Waypoint is seeking a dependable, safety‑focused Seasonal Lifeguard to support daily operations at our waterfront throughout the summer. The waterfront is open to Waypoint employees and their families, as well as Waypoint members when accompanied by staff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, values teamwork, and is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment. What You'll Do Monitor swimming areas and oversee all waterfront activity Enforce safety rules and agency policies Supervise the use of water equipment and support boating activities Assist with general waterfront operations and respond to safety concerns Provide clear communication and direction to participants of all ages What We Offer Schedule flexibility: We understand summer availability varies and are open to discussing what you need Paid certifications: For the right candidate, Waypoint will cover the cost of lifeguard certification and the boat safety certification course A supportive, mission‑driven team environment Required Competencies, Skills & Abilities Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to understand and follow directions Strong work ethic and reliability Willingness to follow all agency policies and procedures Willingness to attend mandated state and/or agency training Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with participants and staff Preferred Qualifications Watercraft experience Experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities Lifeguard certification CPR/First Aid certification Boat Safety course completion No certifications yet?
