Join our Edmonton shop in a permanent, unionized Maintenance Mechanic role-enjoy stable Monday-Friday hours (7:30 AM-4:00 PM), stay local, and get home to your family every day while benefiting from strong job security and valuable employee perks. Installs, maintains, and repairs manufacturing equipment and fixtures. Conducts basic maintenance activities primarily on machinery and related equipment. Maintains repair and maintenance records. Troubleshoots problems and escalates non-routine and complex issues to senior coworkers. Typically has 0-2 years of experience and works under close supervision. Principal duties in this position are the maintenance and repair/rebuild of the following: Welding machines, including calibration Cutting torches Small hand tools maintenance - grinders, tank cleaning equipment, etc. Vehicles maintenance- tire rotation, etc. Air compressor maintenance and operation Maintenance of the Track equipment Forklift operations Overhead hoists and cranes Trackmobile Stationary Machinery: Drill press, meba saw, band saw, pipe threader, pipe bender, cutoff saw, radial arm drill press, etc. Additional related duties as assigned Requirements for this position are as follows: Safe Work WHMIS training, experience dealing with hazardous commodities Detail oriented Excellent time management skills The ability to work well independently. Strong initiative Dependable/reliable Inventory management JMan Millwright Certificate The incumbent should be a Journeyman Millwright. Welding skills and WHMIS training would be an asset. Effective communication and organizational skills, strong initiative, and an ability to work well under pressure are also desired. Installs, maintains, and repairs manufacturing equipment and fixtures. Conducts basic maintenance activities primarily on machinery and related equipment. Maintains repair and maintenance records. Troubleshoots problems and escalates non-routine and complex issues to senior coworkers. Typically has 0-2 years of experience and works under close supervision.
