Full Consideration Date: 07/12/2026 Job Description: Primary Function: The Assistant Director coordinates program operations for the Iowa Civic Educators Institute (ICEI) which offers professional development in civic education for pre-service and in-service K-12 teachers across Iowa. The individual in this position plans and executes programming; manages data collection and reporting; collaborates with campus partners to support participants and evaluate outcomes; promotes the Institute by building and maintaining relationships with K-12 educators, higher education programs, and community organizations, while supporting participant recruitment and selection; administers financial processes; contributes to program evaluation through data analysis and reporting; assists with fundraising efforts to sustain and expand programming; recruits and coordinates Master Teachers and content experts; facilitates collaboration among instructors; assists with curriculum development; and contributes to public-facing materials. This position is eligible for partial remote work/partial on-site work. This position requires being present at the University of Northern Iowa campus in Cedar Falls, IA three days a week. Remote work, within the state of Iowa, is permitted two days a week. Employees who elect remote work must comply with the requirements of our remote work policy and agreement. Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus at least three years of program management or related experience required. Occasional work outside of normal work hours and travel will be necessary. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the Iowa K-12 education system; experience with curriculum development for K-12 schools or professional development programs; experience working with K-12 teachers and students; experience with fundraising including grant writing; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously; strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and written and verbal communication skills; and digital proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Zoom preferred.
