Responsibilities

  • Provide duties as needed in the Acute Care Medical/Surgical areas, in ambulatory/outpatient care clinics, and outpatient lab.
  • Prepare, administer, and appropriately document actions taken specific to commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular and/or intravenous medications as permitted by approved local facility policies and procedures.

  • Basic Requirements/Certifications:
  • Successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) to obtain licensure.
  • Current unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse from any US State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Two (2) years of current experience in a primary care setting, including work within the last six months.
  • Education Required:
  • Graduate of a state approved school of practical/vocational nursing.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
  • Other Special Qualifications:
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance and South Carolina criminal background check.
  • Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below: International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide skilled nursing care to patients in Specialty and Primary Care Clinics in Ralph H. Johnson VAMC, and surrounding Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. They may perform those approved Medical Center procedures that are described in the Licensed Practical Nurse Act, Vocational Nurse VA Qualification Standards. The LPN demonstrates increasingly more independence in their management of patient care and competence in caring for adult psychiatric, medical, and geriatric patients.
