About the role

In this role, you will oversee and consult with the client's department clinical leadership on the assigned providers' inventory levels of medical supplies, support inventory functions, and processes within the client's system. You will provide operational guidance to groups storing medical supplies by developing, interpreting, and applying policies and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory database with focus on management of approved supply availability, inventory levels, cycle counts, lead times, and service levels to the customer.
  • Create new processes or use existing tools to support the management of nursing, procedural, and specialty inventory levels within the hospital system.
  • Review non-stock purchases for potential item adds to inventory or clinical par carts.
  • Oversee vendor return process for stock, non-stock, or end user returned items.
  • Lead and support annual physical inventory and purchase order discrepancy resolution process.
  • Create and manage the process for product expiration.
  • Manage and support product recall notice procedures.
  • Identify slow moving items and proactively works with provider's clinical staff for inventory reduction or elimination.
  • Collaborate with the clinical quality value analysis team (CQVA) to process (e.g., add, change, delete) items in a timely manner.
  • Build relationships and work closely with provider's distribution partner(s) and clinical staff; facilitate and participate in meetings to determine inventory level changes.
  • Work with internal customers and provide inputs for new technology or tools as needed.
  • Mentor or help guide the work of team providers in clinical area(s) to help maintain the multi-million-dollar inventory of the organization.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience required, ideally in inventory or supply chain operations within a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Experience with par levels, non-stock items, vendor returns, and working in a fulfillment environment strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency required in inventory systems, ERP platforms (e.g., Workday, Lawson, PeopleSoft, SAP), and Microsoft Excel.
  • Clinical product knowledge preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • This is an on-site position 5 days a week in Worcester, MA.
