A Brief Summary of This Position: Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of plant equipment and facility systems. This role helps ensure equipment reliability, safe operations, and minimal production downtime through preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair activities involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Essential Functions: Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, machinery, and facility systems. Diagnose, test, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble production equipment and components. Troubleshoot and service pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Perform repairs and adjustments to mechanical components including clutches, drive systems, motors, and related equipment. Repair or fabricate parts, fixtures, and components using welding, cutting, brazing, and related fabrication methods. Troubleshoot electrical systems and circuits including 12-48-volt DC and 120-460-volt AC systems. Perform both major and general repairs on production and facility equipment. Accurately document labor, materials, and parts used for maintenance and repair activities. Properly use and maintain test equipment, hand tools, and maintenance equipment. Safely operate lift equipment including cranes, booms, man lifts, and cherry pickers. Respond to occasional emergency call-ins or irregular-hour maintenance needs with limited supervision. Identify and report abnormal operating conditions, equipment concerns, and safety hazards to leadership. Maintain clean and organized work areas while supporting housekeeping and routine maintenance activities. Maintain required certifications, licenses, and technical competencies necessary to perform assigned duties. Communicate training needs or safety concerns to management and avoid performing work without proper training or authorization. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Ability to troubleshoot AC and DC electrical systems and circuits. Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively. Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout procedures. Basic shop math skills include multiplication, division, fractions, and decimal conversions. Ability to safely use maintenance tools, test equipment, and material handling equipment. Ability to obtain forklift and crane certifications through company-provided training programs. Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to lift, move, and work with equipment and materials as required. Ability to wear required PPE and work in both indoor and outdoor manufacturing environments. Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications: Previous experience in industrial maintenance or as an Industrial Mechanic. Experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment. Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lift equipment. Knowledge and experience troubleshooting hydraulic systems. Experience with PLC systems, maintenance software, and general computer applications. Welding and fabrication experience. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. High level of integrity, accountability, and customer focus. Working Environment The work environment can vary significantly depending on the industry (e.g., manufacturing, commercial facilities, or field services).
