About the role

This position is part of the Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer, Department of Energy. As a Human Resources Specialist, you will independently lead complex, sensitive projects for senior Department officials, applying expert personnel management and deep HR program knowledge to plan, conduct, and integrate Department-wide initiatives. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of Total 4 of the following: Developing organization-wide human resources policies and procedures to support consistent implementation across core HR functions. Evaluating employment laws, labor regulations and administrative or judicial decisions to support organization-wide compliance and operational effectiveness. Serving as a senior advisor or consultant to stakeholders to resolve highly complex, sensitive, or precedent-setting employment policy issues. Planning and conducting evaluations or compliance reviews of human resources programs to identify operational risks to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and recommend corrective actions. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must (1) meet all of the requirements as described in this section; and 2) be rated "well-qualified", which is defined as having a score of 85 or better. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
