About this roleWhat a day of a Technical Production Specialist looks like :Provides technical assistance to department or campus. Performs technical set-up for video, audio and multi-image presentations.Sets up and breaks down audio equipment. Operates audio equipment including digital sound consoles.Determines malfunctions and repairs and operates existing electrical appliance and equipment.Operates stage lighting equipment for events and productions in auditorium; rig lighting equipment by use of ladder, as required.Performs preventive and regular scheduled maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery consistent with equipment recommendations.Maintains facility in good working condition, monitor and inspect facilities.Maintains electrical systems including air conditioning, light fixtures, and other electrical components. Replaces defective or obsolete theatrical equipment and fixtures.Provides custodial duties such as but not limited to cleaning, dusting and mopping floors of theatre stage area.Maintains and performs in a safe workplace. Follows established safety practices. Provides for the security and safety of students, faculty, and staff.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.We'd love to hear from you if you have the following:Education and Experience:High school diploma or GED with additional training related to the positionOne-year related experience, and experience as lead worker or indirect supervisorKnowledge of:Lighting console and ethernet control gatewaysDigital audio equipment and sound consoles and how to operate themSkilled in:Troubleshooting and minor repair of theatre lighting and audioBasic electronics and solderingAttention to detail while maintaining effective time and task managementDelivering a high level of customer serviceAbility to:Work on a lift and catwalks at heights up to 30 feetEffectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of serviceLicenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:Regular physical attendance requiredWork Environment and Physical Demand:Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 poundsLift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing in excess of 50 poundsReach and grasp objectsStoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawlStand for extended periods of timeUse of video display terminalUse of manual dexterity and fine motor skillsIdentify and distinguish colors and shades of colorCommunicate information orally and in writingReceive and understand information through oral and written communicationProofread and check documents for accuracyWork with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injuryExperience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditionsWork a fluctuating work scheduleThe minimum base pay for this position starts at $16.51 per hour; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate's education and experience.This position is open until filled with a first initial review on May 5, 2026.Wait, there is more!Culture: Be part of an inclusive, Panther First environment wVision insurance
