R&D Scientific Metal Engineer

About the role

Design and develop technical solutions for assigned projects within defined budgets and quality standards; Lead all stages of project management, including R&D, process engineering, scale-up to production, and regulatory compliance; Develop test plans, manage R&D timelines, and align with departmental objectives; Independently plan and execute research projects, conduct / monitor experiments, and support laboratory operations; Coordinate trials, collect and analyse data, and document laboratory experiments per project schedules; Prepare professional technical reports and documentation for clients, subcontractors, and investors; Collaborate with subcontractors and third-party service providers for experimental activities; Identify and engage metallurgical laboratories and subcontractors to test metal formulation through master alloy preparation, melting, processing (casting, rolling, forming, coiling, etc.), and full quality testing across different metal families; Build and maintain a library of molecules and additives and lead the execution of proof-of-concept (POC) pilots and live client demonstrations; Supervise assistant researchers, offering guidance and resources to ensure project success; Manage project-related administrative tasks including expense reporting, invoice approval, and data tracking; and Field visits to monitor research project progress.
