Position Summary The Supervisor of Central Service is responsible for assisting in the direction and overall operations of the Sterile Processing Department (CSSD). The Supervisor ensures all medical equipment/instruments, O.R., hospital wide are cleaned, sterilized, and assembled following regulatory and hospital standards. She/he maintains high levels of service and quality. This position is responsible for staff supervision and development, quality of sterile processing work performed, and maintaining effective inter-departmental relations within the department. The Supervisor develops and maintains an environment that supports quality care in the processing of instrumentation and equipment for the hospital and aligns operations and performance improvement training, and capital equipment purchase and maintenance. The position is accountable for maintaining compliance with all applicable Joint Commission, County, State, and Federal agencies laws, regulations and standards.
