Responsibilities
- Physical Therapist are movement experts who improve quality of life through hands-on care, patient education and prescribed movement. Our Physical therapist work as a team with physical therapy assistants to treat people of all ages and abilities.
- Additional Job Duties:
- Evaluates patients, develops plans and goals, and implements treatment programs for improvement of physical or developmental dysfunction and independence in activities of daily living.
- Continuously reassesses treatment plans and goals.
- Educates and instructs regarding home programs and preventive measures as appropriate to patient, family, and others.
- Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department in a timely manner.
- Communicates with patient, family, physician, and other healthcare providers regarding patient care.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Participates in educational programs and inservices and other meetings as required. Participates on special project teams and other related duties as assigned and requested

- Pediatric Physical Therapist ¿ the following also apply:
- Evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions. Addressing motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, gait, etc.
- Interviewing children and family members, using physical examination to diagnose movement disorder.
- Ability to evaluate and treat patient from 18yrs old and older.
- Float to adult units if needed if pediatric patient census fluctuates.
- Evaluates and treats pediatric patients from birth to 18yrs old, regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.
- Settings include inpatient, inpatient emergency department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Doctor of Physical Therapy Preferred.
- NM License of Physical Therapy required.
- BLS required at time of hire.
