About the role
The Global IT Operations team is responsible for maintaining stable, secure, and compliant IT services across the company's fleet infrastructure. What You Will Do: - Fleet IT Operations Management Lead operational IT activities across the vessel fleet, ensuring stable infrastructure, system availability, and operational efficiency. Monitor operational performance and coordinate resolution of infrastructure incidents affecting vessel IT systems. - Datacentre and Infrastructure Management Oversee vessel datacentre infrastructure including domain controllers, file servers, storage systems, backup infrastructure, and network devices. Ensure proper configuration, system availability, and lifecycle management of datacenter equipment. - Backup and Disaster Recovery Governance Ensure backup systems across vessels and shore infrastructure are functioning correctly. Review backup reports, validate backup integrity, conduct restoration testing, and participate in disaster recovery exercises to ensure operational resilience. - Patch and Vulnerability Management Coordinate patch deployment across servers and workstations. Monitor vulnerability scanning results (Rapid7 or equivalent), track remediation progress, and ensure security vulnerabilities are resolved within defined timelines. - Cybersecurity Operations Implement security best practices across vessel infrastructure including endpoint protection, system hardening, privileged access control, encryption, and network security controls. - Compliance and Governance Ensure IT infrastructure aligns with security standards such as ISO 27001, internal IT policies, and maritime compliance frameworks including TMSA. Support audit activities by preparing required evidence, documentation, and operational reports. - Fleet IT Governance Maintain standard operating procedures, infrastructure standards, and operational policies across the fleet. Ensure consistency in system configuration, naming standards, asset management, and security controls across vessels. - Vendor and Service Provider Management Coordinate with vendors and service providers for infrastructure services, cybersecurity tools, connectivity solutions, and hardware support. Monitor service delivery performance and ensure vendors meet operational expectations. - Operational Reporting and Documentation Prepare operational reports including infrastructure health status, security posture, compliance tracking, and fleet IT performance metrics. Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational SOPs. What We Are Looking For: - 5-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure operations, system administration, or IT operations management. Strong understanding of: - Windows Server administration and Active Directory - Datacenter infrastructure management - Backup and disaster recovery operations - Patch management and vulnerability remediation - IT infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting - Cybersecurity fundamentals and system hardening - Experience managing enterprise infrastructure and operational systems. - Understanding of vessel IT infrastructure or remote infrastructure environments will be an advantage. - Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and operational management skills.
