Job Summary The Account Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales growth by selling products of distributors to business and industrial establishments or individuals. This position involves direct engagement with customers at various locations, including sales offices, stores, showrooms, or the customer's place of business. The Account Manager is responsible for building strong relationships, promoting key vendor products, and ensuring seamless order processing and customer satisfaction across the assigned territory in Montana, Wyoming and Northern Idaho. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from business contacts, industry ads, trade shows, websites, and other networking avenues and sources. Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit sales orders. Build and utilize functional knowledge of products sold by use, vendor, and location in the warehouse, catalog number and reference materials, and special or unique attributes. Develop relationships with key vendors in assigned electrical markets. Promote and feature key vendor products through sales calls and promotions. Process orders from customers using all required company policies, procedures and systems, ensuring processing, shipment and delivery of merchandise in a timely manner. Provide verbal and written quotations or estimates of prices, terms, delivery, credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained. Estimate date of delivery to customer based on knowledge of production and delivery schedules. Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries. Assist in collections of accounts and exercise knowledge of credit status and customer procedures. Develop relationships with new and existing customers and provides information to maximize sales volume, utilizing thorough knowledge of the organization's products and/or services. Work with customers to resolve problems and issues that may occur or as directed by District and/or Branch Management. Collaborate with Purchasing Department and/or District Manager to aid special inventory selections, inventory controls, and inventory problem resolution. Collaborate with Purchasing Agent or District/Branch Manager to resolve specific inventory problems as directed by District Manager. Formulate, develop, and execute account development on sales plans by count and submit reports as required. Enter sales call plans, calls, and results into repositories as directed. Positively represent the company while traveling on company expense and in company vehicles, adhering to principles of good etiquette, safety practices, and good citizenship. Prepare reports of business transactions and maintain careful, accurate and daily records of expense accounts to be reimbursed by the company and submitted in a timely manner.
