Facility: Dayton Children's - South Campus Department: Sleep Clinic and Diagnostic Labs Schedule: Full time Hours: 32 Job Details: Under the direction of the Sleep Clinic/Labs Manager and Medical Director, the Sleep Respiratory Therapist provides patient education on sleep related breathing disorders and positive airway pressure (PAP) treatment, monitors PAP compliance, and verifies PAP settings match orders. Supports sleep clinic locations (intake and patient/family education), assist with medical complex patients in specialty clinics. Supports sleep labs by assisting with daytime procedures such as PAP naps, desensitization MSLT's, and Actigraphy. As a discharge planner he/she has the responsibility for patient/ family respiratory home care assessment and management, resource management, care facilitation and discharge planning of appropriate respiratory treatments including supplemental oxygen, positive airway pressure devices, and other necessary treatment devices. Collaborates with nursing discharge planners and the entire care team in discharges, and continued follow up care in the ambulatory clinics. Serves as a resource and advocate for patient/ family, community agencies, and provider networks. In addition, the discharge planner represents Dayton Children's in establishing and maintaining liaisons between Dayton Children's and external customers.
