Job Description The Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all quality control operations to ensure David Yurman products consistently meet the company's quality standards, craftsmanship expectations, and customer requirements. This role manages quality inspection teams, quality processes, vendor quality performance, and product validation programs across finished goods, components, repairs, and returned merchandise. The Quality Control Manager partners closely with manufacturing vendors, distribution operations, and cross functional stakeholders to drive continuous improvement initiatives, reduce defects, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with established quality standards. This position plays a critical role in protecting brand integrity by leveraging quality data, leading quality assurance programs, and fostering a culture of excellence throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead all quality control operations to ensure finished goods, components, and repaired merchandise consistently meet David Yurman quality standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain inspection standards, procedures, training materials, and quality tools across internal teams and external manufacturing partners.
• Lead, develop, and coach Quality Control Inspectors, Polishing personnel, Returns Inspection teams, and Quality Data Processor(s).
• Manage staffing, workload prioritization, and resource allocation to support business needs and service level commitments.
• Partner with manufacturing vendors and internal stakeholders to identify, communicate, and resolve quality concerns.
• Analyze supplier quality trends and oversee quality reporting, sampling plans, defect tracking, and vendor scorecard initiatives.
• Manage statistical audits and quality verification programs for components, finished goods, and inventory held within distribution and vault locations.
• Oversee assay testing, gemstone verification, and other product validation programs to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the QC Polishing Shop, ensuring work is prioritized appropriately while maintaining productivity and workmanship standards.
• Manage Returns Inspection operations to ensure accurate evaluation, disposition, and processing of returned merchandise.
• Leverage quality data and operational metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain reporting dashboards, KPIs, and quality performance summaries for leadership review.
• Drive process improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, reduce defects, improve throughput, and support scalability.

Requirements

• Minimum seven years' experience working in a quality position in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Four years' experience building, training, and managing a team.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with global manufacturing base and various departments with in the company.
• Organizational skills required .
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task .
• Basic Computer skills
• Knowledge of jewelry construction, gemstones, diamonds, silver & gold required .
• Education:
• College Degree preferred, but not required with sufficient experience .
• GIA Certification Preferred, but not required
• Location: Lyndhurst, NJ
• Travel: Some travel possible
• Estimated Base Salary: $85,000-$95,000.
