In the Americas, our sole focus is on the investments business. We have offices in Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Miami, and Sao Paolo. Our breadth of experience gives us close proximity to the companies we invest in and the markets we operate in. The Analyst will play a key role on the Alternative Investment Strategies (AIS) team, supporting hedge fund and alternative investment manager research, selection, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring. This is an entry level role ideal for candidates with 1-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in manager research, alternatives, asset management, or risk management. The successful candidate will contribute to idea generation, quantitative and qualitative research, portfolio monitoring, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manager Research & Due Diligence
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative due diligence on hedge fund managers across strategies and sub‑strategies.
  • Prepare high‑quality meeting notes, due diligence reports, and investment recommendations for approval committees.
  • Maintain research documentation and ensure consistency with the AIS due diligence framework.
  • Investment Analysis & Monitoring
  • Build and maintain quantitative models to evaluate managers' performance, risk characteristics, and factor exposures.
  • Monitor approved managers, flagging concerns and collaborating with senior team members on follow‑up.
  • Stay informed on market developments, hedge fund trends, and emerging strategies, communicating insights to the AIS team.
  • Sourcing & Pipeline Development
  • Assist in identifying new manager opportunities and drive early‑stage due diligence efforts.
  • Coordinate with strategic partners to gather and synthesize market intelligence.
  • Content Development & Communication
  • Contribute to thought leadership, including educational materials, white papers, and commentary for internal and external audiences.
  • Communicate analysis clearly and confidently to senior colleagues, committees, and clients.
  • Collaboration & Team Contribution
  • Work closely with colleagues across Investments, Investment Operations, and Distribution.
  • Support senior team members in project work and cross‑team initiatives.
  • Promote a collaborative, innovative, and high‑standards culture across the organization.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of professional experience in investment management, hedge fund research, alternatives, risk management, or related fields.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills; familiarity with statistical concepts, risk frameworks, and performance analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with programming or statistical tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL) is a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Bachelor's degree required; progress toward CFA or CAIA is a plus.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in hedge funds and alternative strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce polished work under tight deadlines.
  • Initiative, drive, and a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
