We are looking for a Power Electronics Test Engineer to join our Electronics Team. This role is the critical bridge between our Electronics, Test & Integration, and Manufacturing teams. You will own the testing, debugging, and validation of power conversion systems-from building test benches to diagnosing field failures.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate power electronics test benches
- Execute functional, performance, and stress testing on motor drives and power products (AC/DC, DC/AC, DC/DC)
- Perform lab measurements to validate design performance-voltage, current, power, efficiency, switching waveforms, thermal, and EMI
- Support Manufacturing and Test & Integration teams with hardware troubleshooting
- Diagnose failed field equipment and conduct root cause analysis
- Create and execute test plans and procedures
- Document results, failures, and corrective actions
- Maintain lab equipment and ensure safe testing practices
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Coursework or hands-on experience in power electronics
- Understanding of basic power electronic converters
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets
- Experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, electronic loads
- Understanding of electrical safety for high-voltage systems
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Basic knowledge of PCB design and layout
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with motor drives in a lab environment
- Knowledge of motor drive control theory
- Lab experience with low-voltage power systems (up to 1000V)
- Internship/co-op experience in hardware testing
- Soldering skills (passives, basic ICs)
- Professional PCB design experience in Altium
- NI LabVIEW experience
