Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the coffee shop assistant manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of job performance, practice Fairmont Service Promise's in all interactions Prepare handcrafted espresso‑based beverages, brewed coffees, cold beverages, nitro drinks, smoothies, and teas with precision and consistency Grind, dose, and extract espresso; maintain knowledge of bean profiles, origins, roasting methods, and flavor characteristics Calibrate espresso machines throughout the day to ensure optimal extraction and maintain cleanliness and functionality of all coffee equipment Rotate beans and monitor freshness levels to ensure product quality is upheld at all times Deliver warm, efficient, personalized guest service in line with Fairmont Service Promise standards Make knowledgeable beverage recommendations and manage high‑volume service periods while maintaining professionalism Provide service at the counter and tables as required Set up daily workstations including the espresso bar, cold bar, and condiment areas Maintain adequate stock levels for all beverage ingredients, milk alternatives, syrups, garnishes, and related supplies Communicate any '86' items or shortages to both the serving team and supervisor on duty Perform all opening and closing duties related to barista operations Prepare and serve pastries, sandwiches, salads, smoothies, and grab‑and‑go products Maintain retail displays to brand standards, ensuring items are attractively presented and fully stocked Process transactions, manage float, and reconcile cash at end of shift Maintain accurate inventory for coffee bar ingredients and complete daily requisitions to ensure proper stock levels Maintain cleanliness of all service areas, equipment, counters, and work surfaces, including espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and nitro systems Follow all Accor, local government, WHO, and EHC safety and sanitation standards Ensure proper rubbish removal and adherence to all sanitation protocols Perform any other duties, tasks, and assignments within your department as required.
