Continuously and attentively monitors patients' cardiac rhythms and pulse oximetry, accurately interpreting and communicating baseline variations to Registered Nurse. Collects data and documents interpreted rhythms and significant events during shift. Completes required reporting. Maintains equipment and assists with application, return, and troubleshooting, escalating according to established procedures if necessary. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED Cultural Awareness Knowledge of people with diverse backgrounds and the ability to convey respect and connect effectively. Health Information Documentation - Knowledge of the relevance of health information and appropriate documentation methods, ability to record medical histories, symptoms, vital signs, medications, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, tests, and medical results in written or electronic form. (THNU0290) Patient Safety - Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment, and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks. (THNU0300) Life Support - Knowledge of the process taken to restore and maintain essential physiological functions, and the ability to apply these processes in a patient care situation. (I0960) BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association Additional Qualifications Physical Demands Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
