About the role

About the role Under the guidance of the Creative Services Coordinator and as a member of the design and print team, you will be responsible for the delivery of and assist in the development of a comprehensive, customer focused, integrated, cost effective and progressive print service for the University. The Print Officer advises University staff on everything from basic print through to complex design and print projects, liaising with a wide range of suppliers within procurement frameworks and operating the in-house print equipment to deliver printed materials on time and to budget with high standards of quality. You will be responsible for: Maintaining a good relationship with suppliers, processing orders and invoices, booking in and despatching print deliveries and overseeing the booking of central resources held by the Design and Print Centre (DPC) as well as the printing of in-house printing. Delivery of an effective and flexible administrative service to support the efficient operation of the Design and Print Centre including the management of the DPC inbox. Operation of a range of equipment to provide an efficient centralised print facility. Identify and advise in the processes needed to produce a print job to successfully meet the customer, partners and stakeholders' requirements. Research and investigate print options for specific projects. Undertake routine equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures, identify errors and equipment faults, and take corrective action as appropriate to maintain the viability of the printing facility. Lead on the production of a range of documents, finishing functions and packaging for delivery to provide a seamless service.
