About the role

Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Marine Reliability Engineer to join t he Subsea Marine & Shipping team. Reporting to the Manager , this role will be based in Chevron's office in Bengaluru . This position is a functional member of Chevron Shipping Company's (CSC) Fleet Technical Asset Integrity and Reliability department. The applicant should be familiar with Oil/LNG Tankers, Operations, Reliability Cantered Maintenance (RCM) principles, Condition based Monitoring programs, Predictive maintenance, Diesel Engines operation & maintenance, requirements of Classification Society, Flagstate and IMO. Project management skills, data handling/processing skills, technical evaluations, report writing, verbal/written communication, presentation skills are preferred for this role. The applicant should have a maritime background and should have sailed onboard oil/ gas tankers as an experienced engineer (Prefer Chief Engineer, 1st Assistant Engineer, or Senior 2nd Assistant Engineer). The applicant should be self-motivated and driven, have demonstrated technical competencies to enhance Chevron Shipping's Asset Integrity and Reliability strategies, be open to challenging the status quo and explore use of new tools/ technologies to enhance efficiency, be willing to collaborate and work effectively with global teams, across different time zones. Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements. Key responsibilitie s - Acts as Diesel Engines (4-Stroke and 2-Stroke) Subject Matter Expert and provides technical support to Marine Operations team for CSC's operated oil and gas tanker fleet of around 30 vessels. - Manages various Reliability Programs related to Diesel Engines, including but not limited to Engines Performance Monitoring, Cylinder Drip Oil Analysis and Piston-Liner inspections. - Oversees the company's Predictive Maintenance System installed on oil and gas fleet vessels and supports associated processes. Demonstrates value and champions predictive systems within the organization. Leads engagements and liaises with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's), 3rd party vendors, ships and others to address any system issues and drives change within the fleet of ships. - Leads development, deployment, sustainability and continual improvements of predictive maintenance strategies. Supports Predictive Machinery Analyzer systems including Data Historian, Portable Data Analyzer, Icon Diesel Doctor engine condition monitoring system and associated sensor and measuring devices - Acts as Asset Owner for diesel engines and other assigned onboard equipment/systems, responsible for managing maintenance strategies, procedures in CSC's Safety Management System, job plan reviews in the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), providing technical support for critical fleetwide issues related to the assigned equipment/systems. - Advises Engineering Superintendents on diesel engine maintenance requirements for the shipyard planning process. - Develops protocols and manages various programs for safe, reliable, and optimized operation of main engines like low load engine operations to improve fuel efficiency and lower Green House Gas (GHG) emissions. Provides necessary technical support to vessels and operations team to safely manage various kinds of specialized and routine operations. - Coordinates testing of alternative fuels onboard CSC operated vessels. - Collaborates with vendors, performs engineering study, verification and pilots' new technologies and initiatives to prove value to CSC.
