Plata Card is hiring an Engineering Manager for our high-impact Bring a Friend team (BaF), focusing on our flagship referral program - a key channel delivering a high volume of cost-effective new customers. This role is primarily about leading and growing people rather than writing code: around 80% of your time goes to management (coaching, planning, feedback, stakeholder communication) and about 20% to hands-on technical work. In practice, that means you act as a manager and mentor for the team - developing engineers, shaping processes, and ensuring delivery quality, while still staying close enough to the codebase to make informed technical decisions and occasionally contribute to implementation.
