Software Development Engineer in Test

About the role

In your new role as SDET -- Index Engineering, you will be an integral part of our technology team, to deliver high quality and bug free software for running the index business. This role is key to ensure bug free platform, productivity and efficiency of the teams and achieving CICD objectives. This role involves working on test automation, quality processes, and developing tools for testing complex index calculation and back-testing platforms. This role requires thinking out of the box, applying innovation, be abreast with new technologies and trends. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet user needs and business goals through comprehensive testing strategies, contributing to the application roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Test Strategy and Automation :
• Design and implement comprehensive test strategies for the full software development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using industry-standard tools and frameworks.
• Utilize Agile methodologies, participating in and leading QA-related ceremonies as required.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing processes and practices.
• Quality Assurance :
• Ensure high-quality outcomes through thorough testing of functional and non-functional requirements.
• Perform various types of testing including unit, integration, system, and performance testing.
• Defect Management and Reporting :
• Identify, document, and track software defects using appropriate tools and methodologies.
• Provide detailed, actionable feedback to development teams to facilitate quick resolution of issues.
• Generate and maintain test reports and documentation.
• Support and Improvement :
• Serve as a technical point of contact for QA-related matters, providing support and assistance in troubleshooting issues in platform operation, including occasional out-of- hours support.
• Continuously improve testing operations by proactively predicting and addressing potential quality issues.
• Impact:
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality technology to support the STOXX index business, facilitating the development of reliable new index products and services in a cost-efficient and timely manner.

Requirements

• Knowledge s Behaviours
• Technical / Job Functional Knowledge
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Experience (2+ years) in software testing methodologies and Agile-based delivery.
• Technical background with expertise in test automation using Python, SQL, and Public Cloud technologies.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Pytest, Selenium, JUnit).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
• Keen interest in testing trends and their implications for software quality.
