About the role

The Locksmith is the primary and solitary full time Locksmith at the Audie L Murphy Division Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. This position includes duties at Kerrville, NWOPC, &/or any other locksmith requirements/assistance per other VA Outpatient Clinics within a 65-miles radius. This position includes a Selective Placement Factor (skill, knowledge, ability or other worker characteristic basic to - and essential for - satisfactory performance of the job). Selective Placement Factors are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for a position. Applicants who do not meet it are ineligible for further consideration. The Selective Placement Factor for this position is: Do you possess a current and valid state-issued driver's license? NOTE: We cannot accept photographs, therefore; please do not submit a copy of your driver's license with your application package. PHYSICAL EFFORTS: This position requires walking, standing, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling moderately heavy (up to 50 pounds), and occasionally heavier weights with assistance. Incumbent works from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, motorized high lift, etc. as well as other hard to reach places. Incumbent must be in good physical condition, have good eyesight with or without glasses and cannot be colorblind. WORK CONDITIONS: Work is normally accomplished in a climate-controlled environment, but at times works outside in heat or cold and in environments that are poorly light, cramped, and confined, dusty, or dirty and occasionally works at such heights as rooftops. Incumbent is subject to the danger of falling from ladders and scaffolds Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1). All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
